Philip and Kelvin LaVerne, Mid-Century Modern, Tao Side Tables, Bronze, 1960s
Philip and Kelvin LaVerne, Mid-Century Modern, Tao Side or End Tables, Bronze, 1960s
Rare and important pair of occasional tables designed and produced by Philip and Kelvin LaVerne (American, 1907-1987 | b. 1937) circa 1965. Each example features a single pedestal base supporting a unique hexagonal shaped acid etched brass top with an artist signature and 'Tao' Asian motif. This is currently the only example of 'Tao' occasional tables available on the second hand market; an opportunity to acquire investment grade design. Work by the father son duo has steadily been increasing in value at the wholesale level over the past 5 to 10 years.
