Rare Mid Century Modern Peter Protzman for Herman Miller Zebrawood / Chrome Desk

This iconic desk, designed by Peter Protzman for Herman Miller, was only manufactured for two years (1970-1971) making it a rare, limited production item. The smooth, curved edge of the exotic, African zebrawood surface is unlike any desk you will find today. It seems to levitate between the two rounded chrome frames on either side. Two Lucite lined drawers on either side of the center pencil drawer. This desk maintains it’s original manufacturer labels on the interiors of both file cabinets. Minor condition issues. Top clean with wear as seen in photographs.

Zebrawood, Chrome, Lucite, Steel
American, 1970s

Kneehole dimensions:
W 29.5
H 25.5

Other American designers of the period include Adrian Pearsall, Milo Baughman, Vladimir Kagan, Paul McCobb, Paul Evans, Warren Platner, Charles and Ray Eames, Eero Saarinen, George Nelson, Florence Knoll, Harvey Probber.
