19th century oil on canvas by John Gifford (d.1900) “A Successful Shoot” An incredibly well done work by this well respected artist depicting three hunting dogs with their captured birds looking for their owner. The whole in a finely carved gilt wood frame. This piece having sold in Christie’s Auction Gallery (see provenance below) for $8,800.
